Every year in Périgord, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Tour du Limousin brings together cycling enthusiasts from across France. Established in 1968, this race winds through the roads of Haute-Vienne, Corrèze, and Creuse, with occasional forays into Dordogne. Over the four stages, 18 teams participate, tackling the 185.6 km route, which is as scenic as it is challenging. The race kicks off in Excideuil, renowned for its magnificent château overlooking the town. Cyclists embark on the first leg of the route, crossing the Isle Loue Auvézère en Périgord Community. The journey then heads towards Le Grand Périgueux and the Strawberry Country of Vergt before concluding with a final 50 km loop around Trélissac. Every year, the Tour du Limousin draws passionate fans who flock to Périgord. From Rilhac-Rancon to Trélissac, passing through Glandon, some supporters travel hundreds of kilometers to cheer on their teams.
