Entry into the medieval city of Rocamadour is through the Figuier Gate. The Couronnerie Street, bustling with restaurants and shops, serves as the village’s main artery. The rest of the visit requires climbing a staircase with over 200 steps. The Sainte Gate leads to a two-level forecourt, from which you can access six chapels carved into the rock, the Saint-Sauveur Basilica, and the Saint-Amadour Crypt. The Notre-Dame Chapel houses the wooden statue of the Black Madonna. A Way of the Cross extends the route up to the castle, whose ramparts can be visited. At the top of the cliff, a viewpoint offers a unique panorama of the Alzou Valley and the entire city.

For three weeks, concerts are also held in the Sothys Gardens and nearby villages. Finally, in September, Rocamadour comes alive with the Montgolfiades: a renowned hot air balloon meeting where dozens of colorful balloons adorn the sky above the stunning religious city.

On the main street of the medieval city, the Côté-Rocher café-theater offers musical and comedic evenings in a warm atmosphere. In the pedestrian streets of the old town, numerous restaurants invite you to sample local gastronomy.
